What factors contribute to student learning? One consideration is that students learn through relationships with others. How does social learning extend to an online environment? How can the design of lecture videos influence students’ learning and enjoyment of an online course? Our questions grew from our collaboration as we created a series of instructor-led online mini-lectures. We utilize One Button Studio, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Kaltura in an efficient joint workflow to ease the production burden for faculty. We’ll discuss how the design of online lectures may influence student learning and share samples, pedagogical considerations, research, best practices, student perspectives.
